Trying to use what I have since what I'll really need are summer clothes. Stretch marks? none! Sleep: not the greatest. Still waking up a couple times a night. Best moment this week: Felt those first flutters and rolls. This is a busy baby. Miss Anything? No. Movement: Yes. Food cravings: Chocolate Anything making you queasy or sick: No Gender: Boy Labor Signs: No, and don't want any for 24 more weeks. Symptoms: my hip bones are killing me. Love at First Site

We did not get our first glimpse of you until January 20th, which felt like a really long time to wait. But there you were!

I have to admit I cried. And we thought you had only been with us for 9 weeks, but you measured to be a little over 11 weeks. We had to hurry up to UVA to make sure you were all perfect.

Your First Visit to The University

Because of my advanced maternal age, we at least got one trip to UVA. We got to have another look at you, although you wouldn't cooperate and smile for the camera.

But the next day we found out that you had 46 chromosomes all matched up in perfect pairs. And two weeks later we found out that your big sister will have a baby brother in August. Let the nursery planning and name picking begin!

For This Child I Prayed

"For this child I prayed and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him." 1 Samuel 1:27

This was our early Christmas present. The week before Christmas I was in bed on a Saturday morning and thought maybe I should check my calendar. Once I did that, I took off for the store. And sure enough our prayers that we have been praying for years had been answered. The past several weeks when you have been our "secret" have been so precious, but now it's time to share you with our friends and family.
